Description

Interalumina berth, which is located at mile 193 fm orinoco seabuoy, has 345 meters long and 20 meters wide.

The pier is equipped with a marine arm with capacity of 520 cbm/hr for reception of caustic soda, the pressure shall not exceed 19.0 bar, the marine arm has a 8 inches hydraulic coupler with full bore valve.

Additionally, the pier is equipped with two cranes of 35 tons capacity each and grabs of 14 cbm each for discharging bauxite.

Crane no.1 has as structural part, a belt conveyor system and loading boom at its end for loading alumina in bulk at a designated rate of abt 400 mt/hour, but at a realistic rate of abt 250 mt/hr wwd/shinc.

Stowage factor for alumina is 36 cbft/mt.

Actually the l.o.a. For loading alumina, have been restricted to a maximum of 180 m during high water season in order to avoid delays in discharging of bauxite barges., however fm end of december to mid of march while barges are not working, the restriction of maximum 180 m loa is not applicable.
